Vancouver, B.C., Canada — HQ Vancouver congratulates Valhalla Game Studio International Ltd. on the announcement that it is transferring its global headquarters to Vancouver, British Columbia. Valhalla established its gaming studio in Tokyo, Japan in 2008.
Among the main reasons for moving its global headquarters to Vancouver, the company cited access to talent and the presence of a gaming industry cluster. Noting that creative talent is drawn to Vancouver from all over the world, Valhalla plans to create games for the North American market and beyond.
In announcing the move, Valhalla President, Chief Technology Officer and Director Tomonobu Itagaki stated, “It is better to set a development base in Western countries than Japan in order to gather talented creators scattered from all over the world and I have made a judgment that Vancouver is the most appropriate place for this.”
HQ Vancouver President Yuen Pau Woo congratulates Valhalla, and extends a warm welcome as it sets up in Vancouver. “Valhalla’s decision to join the thriving gaming cluster and move its headquarters to Vancouver speaks to the world-class attributes of our city: our internationally-recognized creative talent, our quality of life, our connectivity with other global hubs in gaming, and our competitive business climate.”
