Stockton, CA — The Port of Stockton announced that 2017 was a record-setting year. Overall cargo volume was up over 21% and the number of vessel calls increased by more than 10%.

“Strengthening our infrastructure will help us meet the needs of continued growth and capacity. We anticipate that even more companies will follow suit and set down roots at the Port of Stockton.”

“In 2017 we grew our cargo business to record levels and our tenant base is at an all-time high,” said Port Director, Richard Aschieris. “Those are remarkable achievements. I’m proud of our team for competing to earn and retain our clients’ business by leveraging our unique operational strengths which help our customers profit and grow.”

Leading Gateway Logistics Provider Moves Headquarters to West Coast to Support Growth

Los Angeles, CA -- Port Logistics Group, the nation’s leading provider of omni- channel logistics services, announced it has opened its new corporate headquarters in Los Angeles.

Port Logistics Group’s new headquarters is co-located with the company’s City of Industry, CA retail distribution campus, where Port Logistics Group operates nearly 2.5 million square feet of dedicated and multi-client facilities shipping to retailers, wholesale distributors and direct to consumers.

Long Beach, CA -- With the Chairman of the Board at the hands of a large backhoe machine, Nautilus International Holding Corp. and its Metro subsidiaries today broke ground on its new headquarters before an audience that included Mayor Robert Garcia, Port of Long Beach officials, community leaders and other dignitaries.
The future headquarters for Nautilus and its subsidiaries—Metro Ports, Metro Cruise Services, Metro Shore Services and Metro Risk Management—will continue the more than 90-year prosperous journey for a suite of companies known internationally as leaders in stevedoring, terminal operations, logistics, risk management and more. 
“Our long and rich association with the City and Port of Long Beach is literally going to be written in stone by moving our headquarters here,” James R. Callahan, Nautilus Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, said before he broke ground on the new facility by scooping dirt with a backhoe. “Our team of professionals can’t wait to be in this very modern, business friendly and environmentally advanced location.”

Opelika, AL -- California-based Golden State Foods will build a meat-processing plant in Opelika , bringing approximately 175 jobs to the area to produce hamburger patties and other ground beef products for the restaurant industry.

According to Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller and Golden State Foods officials, the project — announced during a teleconference Tuesday at Opelika Power Services — will mean a $50 million capital investment in Opelika .

“We want good-paying jobs. We think a lot of good things happen when good-paying jobs arrive,” Fuller said. “This will be 170-plus good-paying jobs in Opelika and the surrounding areas. It’s very exciting. It’s a brand-new sector for us. We have automotive, we have medical device manufacturing, we have vitamins, minerals and nutrition, and now we’ll be in the meat-processing business with Golden State Foods.
