Clark County, IN — Governor Mike Pence will join executives and local officials in Clark County on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. to break ground on phase one of the transportation corridor linking River Ridge Commerce Center and the Port of Indiana-Jeffersonville.
In 2013, Governor Pence announced that the state would provide funding to complete the heavy haul corridor. With additional funding from local partners, the $30.4 million project will ensure that the region and the state of Indiana are positioned to maximize opportunities for economic growth around the Ohio River Bridges Project. The first step of this multi-phase project will connect the newly constructed Old Salem Road interchange at State Road 265 with State Road 62 through the River Ridge Commerce Center.
The project will be especially beneficial to steel and automotive manufacturers, which need access to the port facility and River Ridge’s 6,000-acre site. Additionally, a direct rail link is critical to allowing access to multiple Class I railroads, providing Indiana and prospective companies a competitive advantage.

Exiting from I-65, travel east on I-265 to State Road 62. Travel north on State Road 62 (10th Street) until you reach Logistics Avenue, which is the signalized intersection immediately north of the Amazon Fulfillment Center at 900 Patrol Road in Jeffersonville.
River Ridge staff will guide attendees along this portion of the route to the event site.
