Idaho Falls, ID — Fin Fun Mermaid, a company that produces mermaid swimsuits, fin tails, swimwear and other products, was recently honored by Idaho’s U.S. Senator Jim Risch with a piece of the congressional record in recognition of being named “Small Business of The Year” and for their astounding growth.
In three years, Fin Fun has experienced 3,000 percent growth according to Idaho Department of Commerce. CEO Eric Browning and CFO Steve Browning were named Idaho’s “Small Business Persons of the Year” by the U.S. Small Business Administration in April. The following month, Risch named Fin Fun the small business of the month. A piece of the congressional record was presented to Fin Fun September 4 in recognition of these achievements.
“Fin Fun Mermaid started as a home-grown family business after one of their young daughters requested a mermaid outfit,” explained Regional Economic Development for Eastern Idaho CEO Jan Rogers. “They have since grown into an international business, exporting products to 170 countries. We’re proud to have such an innovative and successful company in Idaho Falls that creates jobs and strengthens our regional economy,” Rogers said.
Reading from a speech Risch read on the Senate floor, he said “The American dream is alive and well today…Idaho’s small businesses and the entrepreneurs behind them share a dedication to producing the highest quality products and services.”
“Fin Fun’s success is another example of the important role so many Eastern Idaho small businesses play in supporting economic development in our region,” Rogers said.
