The walls are up on the first of three planned buildings in Phase 1 of Dorchester Commerce Center just off Interstate 95 about 40 miles from where Hyundai is building its $8 billion Metaplant to assemble electric vehicles, and only 33 miles from the world-class Port of Savannah.
When completed, Flint Development’s new industrial park will have more than 2,000,000 square feet.
“Significant progress at the job site is already being made, and we’re thrilled to establish our presence in the booming market of Savannah. Completion of the park is staggered, starting with building 3 to be the first delivered this April. Building 2 is a cross-dock facility and will feature 594,522 square feet of divisible space, with an expected delivery of July. Building 1 will encompass 1,244,571 square feet and be the final building completed in 2025.” Michael Miller, Flint’s Director of Development, said.
The Kansas City firm is investing $195,000,000 in the park sandwiched between the interstate and Liberty County’s premiere industrial park, Tradeport East Business Center. Combined, the three Class A industrial/distribution buildings will have almost 900 auto parking spaces for future employees. They will also have more than 430 dock-high doors, 12 drive-in doors, and space for more than 566 trailers.
William Lattimore, SIOR, and Preston Andres with CBRE are handling leasing of the buildings.
