The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) recognized the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) as a recipient of its annual Economic Excellence award for 2023. The award was presented on Friday, February 23rd, during the TEDC’s 2024 Winter Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
“It is an honor for our board and staff to be recognized for the 10th year in a row by our economic development state-wide organization for PCDC’s continued focus on higher standards of excellence,” PCDC Executive Director Amy Madison said. “It not only sets us apart but clearly demonstrates our commitment to responsible economic growth and development.”
This is the 10th consecutive year for the PCDC to receive the certificate, making PCDC one of only 54 Texas communities recognized out of a possible 875 eligible organizations and one of five in the Austin region. The Economic Excellence Recognition program provides recognition to economic development organizations that meet a desired threshold of professionalism.

Recipients qualify for recognition based on training taken by their governing board/council as well as the economic development director and professional staff. Certifications, professional memberships and activities, and organizational effectiveness of the economic development staff also contribute to the standards for qualification.
