The Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) has announced the recipients of its annual Community Economic Development Awards (CEDA) program for 2024.
The awards were presented during a reception at the SEDC Annual Conference held Monday, July 29, 2024, in Savannah, Georgia.
The Community Economic Development Award program recognizes outstanding organizations in the 17-state southern region for their efforts in advancing the economic viability of their community through economic and community development programs. Recipients were judged on specific criteria including innovativeness, transferability, community commitment and leverage, measurability and secondary benefits to the community.
The Boerne Kendall County Economic Development Corporation (BKCEDC) was awarded the 2024 CEDA in our population category for the launch of Das GreenHaus, Kendall County’s first business incubator.
The BKCEDC is honored to receive this recognition for the first time with SEDC. “Because of the collaboration of the EDC, the Boerne Kendall County Angel Network (BKCAN), along with the strong commitment from community leaders and private partners, we were able to achieve this recognition on behalf of Das GreenHaus,” said Amy Story, President/CEO of the BKCEDC. “We are pleased to receive public acknowledgment for the BKCEDC’s role in this long-term investment in the future of Kendall County that is already proving to be successful,” Story continues.
The Southern Economic Development Council, established in 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana, is the oldest and largest regional economic development association in North America and is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
SEDC is a non-profit, 501(C)(6), membership organization governed by a Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
The BKCEDC exists to promote business opportunities that will strengthen and grow a vibrant and diverse economic future for Kendall County
