The Development Authority of Bulloch County has been awarded a $1,518,920 grant through the OneGeorgia Authority’s Rural Site Development Initiative, providing a major boost to the county’s ongoing efforts to attract new industry and create jobs.
The grant will fund critical infrastructure improvements—including site grading and sewer enhancements—at the 69-acre Cannady Site in the Gateway Regional Industrial Park Phase II, strategically located off Highway 301 South. These enhancements will make the GRAD-certified property “pad ready,” accelerating its market readiness for industrial prospects.
This state investment is complemented by additional local contributions, bringing the total project budget to over $2 million. The Cannady Site has already drawn attention from potential developments and is located near key employers like Great Dane Trailers and WL Plastics, as well as the future revalyu US facility.
“We are very pleased to receive this grant support from the OneGeorgia Authority,” said Billy Allen, Chair of the Development Authority of Bulloch County. “This investment will help us continue building a strong foundation for economic growth and job creation in our community.”
Development Authority CEO Benjy Thompson added, “Pad-ready sites give us a competitive edge. Thanks to the support from the state, our elected officials, and local partners, we’re ready to enhance the Cannady Site’s appeal to future industrial tenants.”
Governor Brian Kemp announced the grant as part of the second round of the Rural Site Development Initiative, which has now awarded more than $18 million to help communities across Georgia prepare sites for economic expansion.
