Circulus – a Houston-based public benefit limited liability company (PBLLC) producing post-consumer resin (PCR) from recycled low-density polyethylene (LDPE) – announced that it will soon be opening its newest manufacturing plant in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
The Ardmore facility will be the second Circulus facility in operation, joining their Riverbank, California, facility that opened in late 2021. Circulus is building out a widespread footprint of plants that utilize advanced technologies with a multistep mechanical process to transform lower grade plastic into resin suitable for a variety of commercial and industrial applications. The company’s products address sustainability challenges with flexible plastics and revolutionize the use of PCR for plastic bags, shrink film, pouches, overwraps, and many more consumer-facing applications.
Circulus’ facility in Ardmore is designed to produce an excess of 50 million pounds of PCR each year. The greenhouse gas emissions associated with production of Circulus’ PCR is approximately 88% below that of virgin resin.
“We are excited to open our newest facility in Ardmore,” said David Hudson, Founder & Chief Strategy Officer. “South Central Oklahoma provides an excellent environment to support the build out of green tech infrastructure, and we are looking forward to being an active part of this dynamic and innovative community.”
“Circulus is an emerging leader in plastics recycling, and we are grateful they chose Ardmore for their latest facility. This type of company represents the innovative industries who are choosing and finding success in Ardmore. Circulus is the latest in a growing list of cutting-edge companies who have announced investments in the Ardmore region in the last 18 months,” said Bill Murphy, President and CEO of the Ardmore Development Authority (ADA).
Mr. Murphy added that this project resulted from the continued partnership between the ADA and OG&E in the development of South Central Oklahoma.
Production is on target to begin in late spring of this year at the 180,000 square foot Ardmore Circulus facility located within the Westport Industrial Park. At full operation, Circulus is expected to employ over 80 professionals in Ardmore.
An in-person hiring event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6, at the Circulus facility located at 2001 Cooper Drive in Ardmore. For more information on Circulus, including open positions, visit www.circulus.com.
