Industrial readiness initiative strengthens national pipeline of rail-connected locations for advanced manufacturing and logistics investment
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — March 19, 2026 — CSX Corporation has announced the latest group of rail-served industrial properties to earn designation under its CSX Select Site program, recognizing 21 locations across 10 states for their readiness to support major industrial investment and expansion.
The newly designated sites received gold, silver or bronze rankings based on comprehensive evaluations of infrastructure capacity, utility availability, development timelines and overall market readiness. CSX collaborated with more than 30 local and regional economic development organizations to identify top-tier candidates, reinforcing the program’s role as a strategic tool for connecting site-ready communities with manufacturers and logistics operators seeking rail access.
Out of more than 1,100 rail-served properties on the CSX network, only approximately six percent currently meet the rigorous standards required for Select Site designation.
“Each CSX Select Site demonstrates the power of preparation and partnership,” said Kellen Riley, senior director of industrial development at CSX. “These locations provide companies with confidence to move forward while enabling communities to convert site readiness into tangible economic growth and job creation.”
Program Momentum Driving Industrial Investment
The program continues to deliver measurable economic outcomes across the CSX footprint. Since the previous round of designations in 2025, Owens Corning announced a major investment at the South Industrial Park in Prattville, Alabama, a silver-level Select Site. The project is expected to create 100 skilled manufacturing jobs while strengthening regional supply-chain capabilities and expanding CSX’s industrial presence in the Southeast.
