New partnership will help visitors discover real-world filming locations from movies, television and games throughout the state
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development announced a new partnership between Film Nevada and SetJetters, a global screen tourism app that helps users discover and visit real-world filming locations from movies, television shows and video games.
The collaboration is designed to promote screen tourism in Nevada by connecting fans with iconic filming locations across the state, from classic Western settings and small-town main streets to the neon landmarks of Las Vegas and Reno.
“Nevada is home to so many iconic scenes on screen,” said Film Nevada Director Kim Spurgeon. “The SetJetters app makes the actual filming locations easy to find so users can relive their favorite cinematic moments, from the classics like The Shootist house in Carson City and Genoa’s main street showcased in Misery, to modern classics like the Ocean’s Eleven closing scene at the Fountains of Bellagio and the unforgettable line from The Hangover, ‘Did Caesar live here?’ It’s a natural partnership for our office to promote the productions we’ve helped bring to the state.”
Nevada Screen Tourism Campaign Expands Film Location Access
Through the SetJetters app, users can explore a growing collection of Nevada film locations, entertainment landmarks and film-related points of interest. The campaign will add more scenes filmed throughout Nevada and introduce an interactive badge that users can earn by visiting 12 select scenes in the Las Vegas area.
The partnership allows users to:
- Discover real-world filming locations across Nevada
- Explore movie, television and video game scenes through an interactive map
- Visit iconic Las Vegas filming locations
- Earn a Nevada screen tourism badge by visiting select scenes
- Submit additional scenes and locations to the platform
- Engage with Nevada’s film history through digital storytelling
Film-Driven Tourism Creates New Opportunities for Nevada
Film Nevada leaders said the partnership reflects the growing economic value of screen tourism, a travel trend in which visitors plan trips around locations featured in movies, television shows and games.
“Film-driven tourism continues to deliver real value for our state,” said Film Nevada Deputy Director Danette Tull. “Film and television exposure spark global interest in our locations, and that attention translates into visitation over time, both on the ground and through digital engagement. Even before partnering with SetJetters, more than 60,000 users were already exploring Nevada on the platform. It’s a powerful reminder that the influence of film extends far beyond production, and Nevada is positioned to benefit from both the economic impact of filming and the cultural tourism that follows.”
By leveraging entertainment content, Film Nevada and SetJetters aim to turn on-screen inspiration into real-world travel experiences that support visitor engagement, destination marketing and tourism activity throughout the state.
Nevada’s Cinematic Landscapes Support Destination Storytelling
Nevada’s diverse filming locations have long made the state a compelling backdrop for productions. From desert landscapes and mountain communities to casino resorts, downtown districts and historic towns, the state offers a wide range of settings for film, television and commercial production.
“Screen tourism is no longer a niche campaign idea; it’s a core travel channel,” said SetJetters CEO Erik Nachtrieb. “Nevada’s cinematic history, from mountain and desert backdrops to the neon of Las Vegas and Reno, makes it a natural stage for this next phase of bringing films to the state. The real opportunity now is conversion, and this is exactly where Film Nevada’s partnership with SetJetters comes in. What we’re really looking at is the evolution from destination marketing to destination storytelling with screen content at the center.”
The partnership demonstrates how destinations can use film and television exposure to create deeper visitor engagement, encourage longer stays and support measurable tourism outcomes.
Film Nevada and SetJetters Highlight Nevada’s Filming History
Through this collaboration, Film Nevada and SetJetters will work together to highlight Nevada’s rich production history, guide visitors to both well-known and lesser-known filming locations, and support the state’s broader tourism and economic development goals.
The SetJetters app is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
