The Lafayette Parish company will add a night shift in Youngsville and Broussard while retaining 62 existing positions
YOUNGSVILLE and BROUSSARD, La. (September 25, 2026) — Leading Edge Manufacturing is expanding production across its two Lafayette Parish facilities, with plans to create 20 direct jobs and retain 62 existing positions. Louisiana Economic Development (LED) estimates the expansion could support another 30 indirect jobs, bringing the projected total to 50 new job opportunities in the Acadiana region.
The company provides sheet metal fabrication, powder coating and metal finishing for industrial and commercial customers. Adding a full night shift at its Youngsville and Broussard operations will increase production capacity and help the company respond to growing customer demand.
Hiring and onboarding are underway. Leading Edge Manufacturing expects to fully implement the expansion by the end of 2026.

Expansion Builds on Three Decades in Acadiana
Founded in 1994, Leading Edge Manufacturing has grown from a local fabrication shop into a manufacturer serving industries that include maritime, power distribution, accommodations and HVAC. The new shift will expand its ability to serve those markets while keeping its operations in Acadiana.

Louisiana has offered the company workforce development support through LED FastStart to assist with the expansion.
Lafayette Parish Mayor-President Monique B. Boulet welcomed the new jobs and thanked LED for its support. Lafayette Economic Development Authority President and CEO Mandi Mitchell said the project reflects continued investment in the parish’s workforce and business climate.
Hiring Expected to Continue Through 2026
Leading Edge Manufacturing is recruiting as it prepares to add the night shift. The company expects the expanded operations at both facilities to be in place by year’s end.
