Flint Development recently opened the doors on the first 276,000 square feet of what will eventually be more than 2.1 million SF of logistic/light manufacturing space on the Georgia Coast.
Flint’s Dorchester Commerce Park is just 35 miles south of the Port of Savannah and about 40 miles from where Hyundai is building its $8 billion Metaplant to assemble electric vehicles.
“We are thrilled to announce our first delivery in Dorchester Commerce Park, Building 3, a 276,062 square foot single load facility, has received TCO as of May 15th 2024,” Michael Miller, Flint’s Director of Development, said. “It is the first of three buildings in the park’s master plan which will be followed by Building 2, a 594,552 square foot cross dock facility, with delivery anticipated September 2024 and Building 1, a 1,244,571 square foot cross dock facility, with delivery anticipated April 2025.”
The Kansas City firm is investing $195,000,000 in the park positioned between the Interstate 95 and Liberty County’s premiere industrial park, Tradeport East Business Center. Combined, the three Class A industrial/distribution buildings will have almost 900 auto parking spaces for future employees. They will also have more than 430 dock-high doors, 12 drive-in doors, and space for more than 566 trailers.
While Dorchester CP is a private development, Liberty County Development Authority CEO Brynn Grant expects it to continue an assembly line of industries recently attracted to the county.
“We had five industries start construction on new facilities, another new industry move into a spec building and two existing industries expand operations last year,” she said. “With Flint’s spectacular work at Dorchester, we think that success will continue.”
William Lattimore, SIOR, and Preston Andres with CBRE are handling leasing of the buildings.
