National APEX Day highlights no-charge procurement assistance and the role of government contracting in Nevada business growth.
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (October 8, 2026) — Nevada APEX Accelerator is recognizing National APEX Day by highlighting the achievements of Nevada businesses pursuing government contracts and subcontracts to grow their operations and expand their customer base.
From July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, the program assisted clients in securing approximately $139 million in government prime contracts and subcontracts across the United States. During that period, Nevada APEX Accelerator served 1,374 business representatives and participated in 73 in-person and virtual events.
A division and program of the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), Nevada APEX Accelerator provides no-charge, individualized assistance to businesses navigating local, state and federal government procurement.
Supporting Nevada Business Growth Through Government Contracting
Nevada APEX Accelerator works with companies at every stage of the contracting process. Assistance ranges from understanding procurement requirements and completing registrations to reviewing bid proposals and identifying potential government customers and prime contractor partners.
Tom Burns, executive director of GOED, said the program supports the agency’s broader mission to grow and diversify Nevada’s economy by helping businesses access government contracting opportunities.
“Government contracting can be a significant avenue for business growth, and our APEX division gives Nevada companies the knowledge and resources to navigate that process,” Burns said.
The program helps Nevada companies, particularly small businesses, develop the knowledge needed to compete in the public-sector marketplace.

Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley issued a proclamation designating October 8, 2026, as Nevada APEX Accelerator Day, recognizing the program’s contributions to the small business community and its support for companies pursuing government contracts.
