The Lafayette Parish project will increase production capacity by approximately 50% and support 109 new direct and indirect job opportunities across Acadiana.
NPK Access Solutions LLC will invest $40 million to expand its manufacturing operations in Carencro, Louisiana, adding production capacity and introducing a new composite matting product line.
The Lafayette Parish project is expected to create 38 direct jobs while retaining 124 existing positions. Louisiana Economic Development estimates it will generate another 71 indirect jobs, resulting in 109 potential new employment opportunities across the Acadiana region.
Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2026, with expanded operations expected to come online by mid-2027.

Expansion Will Increase Production Capacity by 50%
The project will take place at NPK Access Solutions’ existing facility at 2900 Highway 93 in Carencro, where the company has operated for nearly 30 years.
NPK will install specialized manufacturing equipment and supporting infrastructure, increasing the facility’s production capacity by approximately 50%.
The investment will also enable the company to introduce a composite matting product line designed to meet evolving performance requirements across the energy, utility and infrastructure sectors.
“This investment meaningfully expands our Carencro manufacturing operations and reflects our confidence in the long-term strength of our served end markets and continued growth of our business,” said Matthew Lanigan, president and CEO of NPK International Inc.
Lanigan said the company selected Carencro for the expansion because of its successful operating history, experienced local workforce and support from state and regional economic development partners.
“By increasing our manufacturing capacity, we will be better positioned to serve our customers, support our employees and create lasting value for the communities where we operate,” he said.
Project Strengthens Lafayette Parish Manufacturing
NPK Access Solutions manufactures, sells and rents recyclable composite matting systems that provide temporary access to challenging worksites.
Its products and services support electrical transmission and distribution, oil and gas, pipelines, renewable energy, petrochemical development, construction and other critical infrastructure markets.
“NPK Access Solutions’ $40 million expansion is another example of the strong economic momentum happening across Lafayette Parish,” Lafayette Mayor-President Monique B. Boulet said. “Investments like this create quality jobs, strengthen our industrial base and position our community for continued growth.”
Carencro Mayor Charlotte Stemmans Clavier said NPK has been an important regional employer for many years and welcomed the additional job creation associated with the expansion.
The project will create or retain a total of 162 direct positions at the Carencro facility.
Louisiana Offers Workforce and Tax Incentives
To secure the expansion, Louisiana offered NPK Access Solutions a competitive incentive package that includes workforce recruitment and training through LED FastStart.
The company is also expected to participate in Louisiana’s High Impact Jobs and Industrial Tax Exemption programs.
“NPK Access Solutions’ expansion started as a routine business retention and expansion visit—and the 162 jobs it will create and retain show exactly why these visits matter,” said Mandi Mitchell, president and CEO of the Lafayette Economic Development Authority.
Mitchell said the company considered other locations before selecting its existing Lafayette Parish operation for the project.
One Acadiana President and CEO Troy Wayman said the investment reinforces the region’s position as a manufacturing center for products serving essential industries.
“Manufacturing remains one of our region’s strongest economic drivers, and their expansion further reinforces Acadiana’s leadership in producing goods that support critical industries across the country,” Wayman said.
