Superior Energy Services’ planned land purchase will support tubular rentals, manufacturing, repairs and equipment storage in New Boston, Texas
NEW BOSTON, Texas — August 11, 2026 — TexAmericas Center announced that Superior Energy Services plans to purchase approximately 44 acres adjacent to its existing Quail Tools facility in New Boston, expanding the company’s tubular rental operations and regional service capacity.
The additional property will support rental tubulars, manufacturing, equipment repairs, storage and related operational functions serving oil and gas customers throughout the region.
Expansion Highlights
- Approximately 44 acres planned for purchase
- Property located beside Quail Tools’ existing New Boston facility
- Significant capital investment planned for the facility and supporting infrastructure
- Groundbreaking anticipated later in 2026
- Additional capacity for tubular rentals, manufacturing, repairs and equipment storage
- Hiring plans expected to develop as construction progresses and operational requirements are finalized
Creating Room for Long-Term Growth
Expanding directly beside its current facility will allow Quail Tools to maintain a unified operational footprint while leveraging infrastructure already in place.
The location will help the company efficiently coordinate equipment movement, inspection, manufacturing, repair and storage activities. It will also eliminate the need to duplicate resources and preserve flexibility for future growth.
“Quail Tools has established an important operation at TexAmericas Center, and this project gives the company a direct path to expand on that foundation,” said Scott Norton, CEO and executive director of TexAmericas Center. “The ability to secure additional acreage beside an existing facility, use infrastructure already in place and plan for long-term growth is exactly the kind of flexibility we work to provide our tenants.”
Supporting Oil and Gas Operations Across the Region
Quail Tools provides premium tubular rental solutions and technical support for onshore drilling operations. Its inventory includes:
- Drill pipe
- Heavyweight drill pipe
- Drill collars
- Tubing
- Handling tools
- Related drilling equipment
The company also provides maintenance and quality-assurance services designed to help customers operate safely and efficiently.
Equipment is stored and maintained at regional service centers before being transported to customer job sites. Following deployment, it is returned for cleaning, inspection and recertification.
Quail Tools’ New Boston branch supports these rental, maintenance, logistics and field-service functions for drilling and production operations throughout the region.
“Expanding next to our existing facility gives us an efficient path to add capacity and strengthen the work we already perform in New Boston,” said Ron Schumacher, Facilities/Operations Support. “We can leverage infrastructure already in place, bring additional operational functions together in one location and preserve the flexibility needed for future growth.”
