Terrell, Texas — Schulman Partners, LLC, the company behind the Film Alley entertainment brand, has selected Terrell, Texas as the debut location for Moby’s, a new indoor/outdoor live music venue and restaurant concept designed to bring upscale dining, entertainment and regional events to the growing community east of Dallas.
The project will be located at Terrell Crossroads, just north of Interstate 20, a high-traffic retail and entertainment destination that already includes Academy, Hobby Lobby, Ross, Petco, Buc-ee’s and Schulman’s existing Film Alley location.
Slated to open in 2027, Moby’s is expected to draw daily visitors as well as thousands of guests for regional special events. The venue will feature signature musical acts, fine dining, drinks and a relaxed atmosphere set within a scenic greenspace with water features and convenient access to I-20.
New Entertainment Destination Supports Terrell’s Growth
City officials say the project reflects Terrell’s continued momentum as a destination for retail, entertainment, business and quality-of-life investment.
“The Schulman Partners are a great family team,” said Mayor Rick Carmona, who helped spearhead the project. “Terrell is still booming, and entertainment is the key to a sustainable retail location. We are pleased to welcome Moby’s to share the neighborhood with our current Terrell Crossroads tenants: Academy, Hobby Lobby, Ross, Petco and Buc-ee’s, along with Schulman’s existing business, Film Alley.”
City Manager Mike Sims said the project aligns with Terrell’s broader strategy to support growth that enhances the community’s regional presence and quality of life.
“Our Mayor and Council are firmly committed to supporting ventures with an emphasis on quality of life and regional leadership,” Sims said. “From our historic downtown, to our thriving business parks, to Ham Peach Orchards, to our Crossroads retail center, Terrell is a destination and a great experience.”
Mayor Carmona added that the City Council continues to pursue projects that support responsible growth and strengthen Terrell’s appeal as a place to live, work and visit.
“Moby’s definitely adds to our commitment to make Terrell a great place to live, work and play,” Carmona said.
Moby’s to Expand Schulman’s Presence in Terrell
Schulman Partners has been part of the Terrell market since opening Film Alley in 2019. The company said Moby’s will build on that success by creating a new destination for live music, dining and family-friendly entertainment.
“We are thrilled to expand our operations in the Terrell area with our latest entertainment concept, Moby’s, a live music and restaurant concept that offers great food, drinks and fun, helping to make Crossroads at Terrell the premier entertainment destination east of Dallas,” said Nathan Schulman, Vice President of Schulman Partners. “Since opening Film Alley in 2019, we have been welcomed by this community and are grateful for the ongoing support and partnership. We look forward to continuing to entertain your families and friends for years to come.”
With its location along I-20 and proximity to the Dallas-Fort Worth region, the new Moby’s concept is expected to further strengthen Terrell Crossroads as a regional retail and entertainment hub while supporting the city’s long-term growth strategy.
