New 638,000-square-foot Portland campus expands U.S. manufacturing capacity for solar, battery storage and data center infrastructure
PORTLAND, TN (May 26, 2026) — Shoals Technologies Group, Inc. has opened its new 638,000-square-foot Mega Facility in Portland, Tennessee, marking a major expansion of the company’s domestic manufacturing footprint and strengthening its ability to support the nation’s growing energy infrastructure needs.
Backed by a $30 million investment, with a total commitment of up to $80 million over five years, the new campus expands Shoals’ manufacturing capacity for electrical infrastructure solutions used in utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems and mission-critical facilities, including data centers. The facility is located at 1500 Shoals Way and consolidates three existing Tennessee operations into one centralized, state-of-the-art manufacturing campus.
The investment comes as demand continues to rise for resilient, domestically produced power infrastructure that can support energy deployment, storage, grid modernization and high-load users such as data centers.
“As demand for energy infrastructure continues to accelerate, this new Mega Facility allows Shoals to scale alongside our customers and meet the needs of a rapidly evolving energy landscape,” said Brandon Moss, Chief Executive Officer of Shoals Technologies Group, Inc. “By expanding our domestic manufacturing footprint and bringing increased capacity, we are strengthening the American energy supply chain and enabling faster, more efficient energy deployment.”

The Portland facility is designed to significantly expand production capacity while increasing automation in production and packaging. By bringing multiple Tennessee operations under one roof, Shoals expects to improve operational efficiency and better support customers across the energy sector.
The grand opening also coincides with Shoals’ 30th anniversary. The company marked both milestones with a May 18 ribbon-cutting ceremony and a $20,000 donation to Hands of Hope, supporting meals for residents in Portland and across Sumner County.
“Shoals’ 30th anniversary is a moment to celebrate both our company’s success and the people and communities who have helped make it possible,” Moss said. “The opening of our new Mega Facility is an investment in the future of energy infrastructure and a commitment to the Portland community, creating jobs and supporting local families through our donation to Hands of Hope as we look ahead to our next chapter of growth.”
Founded in 1996, Shoals Technologies Group is a manufacturer of advanced electrical infrastructure solutions for mission-critical applications across utility-scale solar, battery storage and data center power systems. The company designs technologies and systems that help customers improve installation efficiency, safety, system performance and reliability at scale.
The Portland Mega Facility reinforces Tennessee’s position as a growing hub for advanced energy manufacturing and supply chain investment, while supporting broader U.S. efforts to expand domestic production capacity for the next generation of power infrastructure.
