The Economic Development Corporation of Weslaco (EDCW) is excited to announce the launch of the Weslaco Business Marketing Grant, a new initiative designed to support local businesses by providing financial assistance for innovative marketing efforts. This grant aims to enhance visibility, boost sales, increase customer engagement, and strengthen brand recognition within the community.
The grant is open to all retail and commercial businesses located within Weslaco’s City Limits, excluding areas in the Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ). Approved businesses can receive up to $1,000 to invest in marketing efforts, including digital marketing, TV, and radio advertising.
“Local businesses are the backbone of our economy, and this grant is designed to empower them with the resources they need to thrive in today’s competitive market,” said Sandra Charlton, EDCW Board President. “By investing in strategic marketing efforts, we hope to help businesses expand their reach and strengthen their presence in the community.”
To assist business owners in understanding the grant’s requirements and application process, Weslaco EDC will host two informational sessions. The first informational session is scheduled for February 25, 2025, from 9 AM to 10 AM, and will provide an overview of the application process, including what to expect, and a Q&A session. The second hands-on session will take place on March 4, 2025 (time TBD) and will focus on updating and/or creating a “My Google Business” profile – which is a requirement to apply.
All informational sessions, which are at no cost, will be held at the Business Visitors & Event Center located at 275 S. Kansas Ave., Weslaco, TX 78596. Business owners interested in applying for the marketing grant are encouraged to attend and learn more about eligibility criteria and how to maximize this funding opportunity.
