Xxentria Technology Materials Co., Ltd. officials joined local leaders and community members today to celebrate the groundbreaking of Xxentria’s first U.S. manufacturing facility in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.
This milestone marks a $45 million investment by the Taiwan-based metal composite manufacturer, expected to create 85 new jobs at the Cherry Glen Industrial Park, a Select Tennessee Certified Site, in Maury County.
Xxentria, a global leader in metal composite materials, will produce panels for the automotive industry, specifically for truck and trailer bodies, at the new facility. The plant will feature advanced equipment, including two lamination lines and one fabrication line, designed to serve Xxentria’s growing U.S. customer base. This expansion follows years of strategic research to establish a U.S. presence closer to its North American clients, reinforcing Tennessee’s reputation as a hub for international business and innovation.
“Global companies like Xxentria continue to choose Tennessee for our pro-business climate, skilled workforce, and strategic location,” said Governor Bill Lee. “We’re proud to welcome Xxentria to Mt. Pleasant and are confident these 85 new jobs will strengthen families and communities across Maury County for years to come.”
“The State of Tennessee’s commitment to fostering international investment made Mt. Pleasant the ideal location for our first U.S. facility,” said Howard Cheng, CEO of Xxentria Technology Materials Co., Ltd. “This new plant will allow us to better serve our North American customers while showcasing Taiwanese innovation in the southeastern U.S.”
The groundbreaking ceremony, held on June 25, 2025, highlighted the collaborative efforts of TNECD, the Maury Alliance, and local partners to attract Xxentria to Tennessee. The company also demonstrated its commitment to the community by donating $10,000 to Mt. Pleasant Elementary School, further solidifying its role as a valued new neighbor.
“Mt. Pleasant continues to attract world-class companies like Xxentria, thanks to our investments in the Cherry Glen Industrial Park and our focus on workforce development,” said Mt. Pleasant Mayor Bill White. “We’re thrilled to see this project come to life and look forward to the economic growth it will bring to our community.”
Since 2019, TNECD has supported nearly 15 economic development projects in Maury County, generating approximately 3,500 job commitments and $4.8 billion in capital investment. Xxentria’s new facility underscores Tennessee’s position as a top destination for high-quality jobs and advanced manufacturing.
“TVA and Mt. Pleasant Power System are proud to partner with TNECD and the Maury Alliance to support Xxentria’s investment in Maury County,” said John Bradley, TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development. “This project aligns with our mission to drive job creation and economic prosperity, and we look forward to Xxentria’s success in the region.”
