Italian automotive supplier will create 50 jobs and increase production for the North American heavy-truck industry
AUBURN, Ala. (August 14, 2026) – Italian aluminum die-casting company 2A USA will invest $32 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Auburn, creating 50 jobs and increasing production capacity for the North American heavy-truck industry.
The Tier I automotive supplier will expand its ability to cast and machine large, complex aluminum components at its operation in Auburn Technology Park West. The project represents the company’s latest investment in Alabama since establishing its U.S. manufacturing presence in the city. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey announced the expansion Aug. 12.
“Advanced manufacturing is a pillar of Alabama’s economy,” Ivey said, describing the project as a vote of confidence in the state’s workforce and business environment.
Auburn Expansion Increases Aluminum Component Production
The $32 million project will provide additional production capacity for high-pressure aluminum die casting and precision machining.
2A USA manufactures complex aluminum components for automotive and heavy-truck customers. The expanded operation will strengthen the company’s ability to supply U.S.-based customers with domestically manufactured products.
The project will support production involving:
- High-pressure aluminum die casting
- Precision machining
- Large and complex aluminum components
- Heavy-truck industry applications
- North American automotive supply chains
The new investment will also create 50 manufacturing jobs in Auburn.
2A USA Continues Long-Term Growth in Alabama
2A USA entered Alabama in 2014 when it acquired an operating facility in Auburn Technology Park West. The company subsequently installed advanced die-casting and machining equipment and began producing U.S.-made components in 2015.
In 2019, the company completed a $15 million expansion of the Auburn facility. The latest $32 million project represents another physical expansion of its Alabama manufacturing operation.
“This investment reflects our trust in our U.S.-based customers as well as in our capable team here in Auburn,” said Vincenzo Ilotte, chief operating officer of 2A.
Company founder and CEO Cavaliere Carlo Ilotte said Auburn has become an important part of 2A’s growth story as the business has developed its engineering capabilities and customer relationships.
Project Strengthens Alabama’s Automotive Supply Chain
Alabama Secretary of Commerce Ellen McNair said 2A USA’s continued expansion demonstrates the value of foreign direct investment and long-term partnerships between international manufacturers and Alabama communities.
As the company increases its capacity, the project will add skilled workers and strengthen Alabama’s automotive and heavy-truck manufacturing supply chain.
“The company’s continued expansion is a success story for foreign investment in Alabama,” McNair said in the Alabama Department of Commerce announcement.
Investment Creates 50 Auburn Manufacturing Jobs
Auburn Mayor Ron Anders said the $32 million investment and 50 new jobs will provide a significant economic benefit to the local community.
The project also deepens the partnership between the company, the Ilotte family and the City of Auburn.
Since arriving in the city more than a decade ago, 2A USA has developed Auburn into an important production base for its North American customers.
