Workforce partnership and in-house manufacturing capabilities position startup for rapid growth
HARRISONBURG, VA — Aerospace startup AeroNimble is scaling its operations in Harrisonburg with a $2.5 million investment that will create 51 new jobs, further strengthening the Shenandoah Valley’s position in advanced manufacturing and aviation services.
The company specializes in PT6 aircraft engine overhaul and blade component manufacturing—critical services that support both civilian and military aviation. By expanding its operational capacity and bringing more component production in-house, AeroNimble aims to reduce maintenance turnaround times and improve service efficiency for aircraft operators.
A key component of the expansion is a strategic workforce pipeline developed in partnership with Blue Ridge Community College. The collaboration is designed to fast-track graduates into the workforce, with entry-level positions starting at $62,000 and available to students immediately upon completion of their programs. The initiative is expected to create a direct pathway for young talent in the region to enter high-skill, high-wage aerospace careers without leaving the Shenandoah Valley.
Economic development leaders point to the project as a model for aligning workforce development with industry needs. By pairing technical training with immediate employment opportunities, the effort helps retain local talent while supporting the growth of emerging industries.
AeroNimble’s investment also reflects broader momentum in Virginia’s aerospace sector, where access to skilled labor, targeted incentives, and strategic partnerships continue to attract high-growth companies. State-backed programs, including workforce training support through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program, are helping reduce onboarding costs while accelerating job creation.
Regional officials highlighted the project’s fit within the Shenandoah Valley’s economic development strategy, which prioritizes aviation, advanced manufacturing, and logistics-driven industries. With proximity to key transportation assets and a growing base of skilled workers, the region continues to attract companies seeking both operational efficiency and long-term scalability.
As AeroNimble ramps up hiring and production, the expansion is expected to deliver both immediate job creation and lasting economic impact—reinforcing Harrisonburg’s role as an emerging hub for aerospace innovation and skilled manufacturing.
