AVAIO Digital Partners has officially selected Brandon, Mississippi, as the site of its next major infrastructure investment: a state-of-the-art, AI-ready data center campus known as the Taurus Project.
With a projected investment of $6 billion, this transformative development marks one of the largest technology infrastructure projects in Mississippi history and positions Brandon as a rising hub for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and sustainable innovation.
Located on 175 acres in Rankin County, the AVAIO Digital Taurus campus will deliver high-performance data center capabilities designed to support hyperscale computing, AI workloads, and next-generation digital services. The project is expected to generate significant economic growth, create high-quality jobs, and establish long-term infrastructure assets for the region.
“This $6 billion investment by AVAIO Digital marks a monumental day for the City of Brandon,” said Mayor Butch Lee. “We’ve worked closely with AVAIO Digital from the beginning, and this partnership will bring high-quality jobs, attract top talent, and position Brandon at the forefront of a rapidly growing tech corridor.”
Strategic Location & Sustainable Design
The Taurus campus will benefit from robust power infrastructure through a strategic partnership with Entergy Mississippi and offer direct access to multiple long-haul fiber routes. Its proximity to major data center markets such as Dallas and Atlanta enhances its interconnection potential, making it an ideal location for hyperscalers and enterprise clients seeking scalable, sustainable solutions.
Designed with environmental stewardship in mind, the campus will feature:
- Water-efficient cooling systems
- Rooftop solar integration
- Rainwater recapture technologies
- Eco-conscious architecture and landscaping
These features reflect AVAIO Digital’s commitment to building smart infrastructure that balances performance with sustainability.
A New Era for Mississippi’s Digital Economy
Mark McComiskey, CEO of AVAIO Digital, emphasized the strategic importance of the Greater Jackson area:
“Mississippi offers a unique opportunity for hyperscalers to expand their digital footprint near established markets in a highly sustainable way. We’re proud to partner with the City of Brandon to help shape the future of cloud and AI infrastructure in the region.”
The Taurus campus will join AVAIO Digital’s growing portfolio of U.S. and European data centers, which collectively boast over 1.2 gigawatts of secured power. Nearly 450 megawatts of capacity are expected to be online by 2027, reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and scale.
Continued Collaboration & Community Impact
The City of Brandon will continue to collaborate with AVAIO Digital, state leadership, and local stakeholders throughout the development process. Updates on project milestones, construction progress, and community engagement initiatives will be shared as the project advances.
“This project would not be possible without the dedication of our city employees, Governor Tate Reeves, AVAIO Digital, the Rankin County Board of Supervisors, and Rankin First,” added Mayor Lee. “Together, we’re building a future-ready Brandon.”
