BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Apr. 10, 2026) — BL Harbert International LLC has been awarded a $124.8 million contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to construct new barracks for enlisted personnel at Fort Stewart, reinforcing the firm’s role in large-scale federal and defense infrastructure projects.
The firm-fixed-price contract, valued at $124,752,752, was awarded through a competitive bidding process that included five submissions. Construction will take place at Fort Stewart, with project completion expected by April 2029.
The project will deliver modern housing facilities designed for unaccompanied enlisted personnel, supporting mission readiness and quality of life for service members stationed at one of the U.S. Army’s largest installations.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District will oversee the project as the contracting authority.
BL Harbert, headquartered in Birmingham, has extensive experience delivering complex construction projects across federal, defense, and international markets. The Fort Stewart project further strengthens the company’s portfolio in military infrastructure development.
Additional Alabama-Based Defense Contracts Announced
The same federal contract announcement included additional awards tied to Alabama-based firms, highlighting the state’s continued strength in defense and government contracting.
Hexagon US Federal Inc. received a $34.7 million contract modification to support the Marine Corps’ Consolidated Emergency Response System, expanding its role in mission-critical defense technologies.
In a separate award, Range Generation Next LLC secured a $14.1 million contract modification for ongoing operational support at the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site.
