Clearwater Paper Corporation, a leading supplier of private label tissue, will create 13 new jobs with an average annual salary of $60,769 in Cleveland County and invest $22.59 million.
The company’s new facial tissue line will be located at its present Shelby consumer products complex, resulting in its third major expansion.
Clearwater Paper’s Shelby, NC location manufactures high-quality store-brand bathroom tissue, paper towels, napkins and facial tissue. The 400-acre facility employs more than 600 with an annual average payroll of more than $41 million.
“Clearwater Paper chose Shelby for its newest facial tissue line due to its proximity to our customers, a growing local skilled workforce and a history of excellent working relationships with the City of Shelby, Cleveland County and the State of North Carolina,” said Clearwater Paper’s Senior Vice President of Consumer Products, Michael Urlick. “Our customers require quality products delivered on time. This location coupled with our outstanding Shelby team can make it happen.”
