Packaging manufacturer will create 10 new jobs and increase production capacity for pharmaceutical markets
WESTMINSTER, S.C. (October 7, 2026) — CurTec USA, a manufacturer of high-performance plastic packaging, announced a $10 million investment to expand its operations in Oconee County, South Carolina. The project will create 10 new jobs and increase the company’s manufacturing and storage capacity for pharmaceutical packaging.
Located at 365 Oconee Business Parkway in Westminster, CurTec will expand its existing warehouse and production lines to support increased output of plastic drums and pails. The expanded operations are expected to come online in summer 2027.
Supporting North American Pharmaceutical Customers
Founded in 1991, CurTec manufactures plastic drums, pails and jars designed to safely handle and contain critical materials used in the life sciences and fine chemicals industries. The company operates production facilities in the United States and the Netherlands, with a commercial presence across Asia, Europe and North America.
The Oconee County expansion builds on CurTec’s opening of its Westminster facility in 2023 and its strategy to bring production closer to North American customers.
“When we opened our Westminster facility in 2023, our goal was to bring production closer to our North American customers and build a platform for long-term growth. This expansion is the next step. By increasing local production, capacity and inventory, we can strengthen supply reliability, broaden the range we manufacture in the United States and continue growing our team and operations in South Carolina,” said CurTec CEO Bart van Berkel.
Continued Investment in South Carolina Manufacturing
State and local leaders welcomed the project as further evidence of CurTec’s commitment to South Carolina and Oconee County’s manufacturing economy.
“CurTec’s decision to expand in Oconee County further strengthens its commitment to South Carolina. We are proud to see the company continue investing in our state, creating 10 new jobs and strengthening our manufacturing workforce,” said Gov. Henry McMaster.
South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III highlighted the investment’s connection to the state’s growing life sciences industry. Senate President Thomas C. Alexander also praised CurTec’s continued growth, citing Oconee County’s workforce and business climate.
Oconee Economic Alliance President and CEO Jamie Gilbert noted that the expansion comes just three years after the Westminster facility opened and reflects the company’s confidence in the community.
“CurTec is an outstanding company and we greatly value our partnership with them. Oconee County is pleased to support this expansion and looks forward to seeing the company continue to grow in our community,” Gilbert said.
