NEWBERRY, S.C. (November 6, 2026) — VITREUS USA is investing $800,000 to establish its first North American operation in Newberry County, South Carolina, creating 15 new jobs.
Newberry Facility Serves Brick and Roof Tile Manufacturers
Located at 200 Park Ave., the facility produces ceramic surface finishes that add color and decorative effects to facing bricks and clay roof tiles. Operations have begun, with testing and production ramp-up underway.
VITREUS USA is a subsidiary of Germany-based VITREUS GmbH, a supplier of coatings and raw materials for the heavy ceramics industry.
Local Production Supports Customer Growth
CEO Joachim Grothe said rising North American demand prompted the company to establish U.S. production after years of supplying customers from Germany. The Newberry operation will help improve responsiveness and delivery flexibility.
The project returns a vacant industrial park building to use. State officials also highlighted the company’s participation in South Carolina Commerce’s Landing Pad Program.
