Multi-million-dollar investment to support growth, create and retain high-wage jobs in the Greater Birmingham Region
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 25, 2026) — Fluid Solutions, a global provider of turnkey fluid systems supporting mission-critical infrastructure, has announced plans to expand its corporate headquarters operations in the Greater Birmingham Region with the development of a new, larger facility in the City of Irondale.
The project includes a multi-million-dollar capital investment and the addition and retention of 49 high-wage jobs. The new headquarters, located at 2601 Commerce Boulevard, is currently undergoing renovations led by D.L. Acton Construction and is expected to be completed by October 29, 2026.
“This new facility represents a significant investment in both our company’s future and the City of Irondale,” said Thomas Goodwin, President and Owner of Fluid Solutions. “As we approach our 20th anniversary, this expansion will allow us to better serve our customers, create new opportunities for our team and continue building our presence in a community that is clearly experiencing strong momentum.”
Founded in the Birmingham region in 2007, Fluid Solutions provides comprehensive fluid system solutions, including fire protection, water supply, fuel distribution, storage systems and related engineering services. The company supports projects across government, defense, commercial and international markets.

“Our location in the Birmingham region gives us logistical access to customers while connecting us to top engineering and design talent,” said Austin Treglown, CEO of Fluid Solutions. “This expansion positions us for continued growth as we broaden our product offerings and global reach.”
Local leaders emphasized the project’s economic significance. Irondale Mayor James D. Stewart, Jr. noted that the company’s investment will strengthen the local economy and create new opportunities for residents. “Fluid Solutions is the kind of innovative, globally focused company we are proud to see grow in Irondale,” he said.
The Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA), in partnership with Jefferson County, supported the company’s site selection and expansion process. Jefferson Traywick, Jefferson County’s economic development advisor, highlighted the company’s international impact and longstanding ties to the region, noting that Fluid Solutions has completed projects in more than 150 countries.
Regional officials say the investment reinforces the Greater Birmingham Region’s continued evolution as a hub for advanced manufacturing and corporate headquarters operations. The area is home to more than 1,300 manufacturing companies across a wide range of sectors, supported by strong workforce development initiatives and a collaborative business environment.
“Fluid Solutions’ decision to invest in Irondale is a strong vote of confidence in the region’s business climate and talent pipeline,” said Steve Ammons, President and CEO of the Birmingham Business Alliance. “This project reflects the type of growth we are working to accelerate—high-wage employment, sustained investment and companies choosing to scale here.”
