OPELIKA, Ala. (Apr. 10, 2026) — Global automotive supplier GMB USA Alabama Inc. has selected Opelika for a new advanced manufacturing operation, representing a $9 million capital investment and the creation of 75 jobs in East Alabama’s growing automotive corridor.
The project, located in Orr Industrial Park, will produce precision components for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), further strengthening the region’s role in next-generation automotive manufacturing and supply chain development.
GMB’s Opelika facility will manufacture critical systems that enhance vehicle efficiency and performance, including active purge pumps, electric water and oil pumps, integrated thermal management systems, and mechanical water pumps. These components are essential to improving fuel efficiency, reducing emissions, and supporting the transition to electrified powertrains.
The investment reinforces Alabama’s position as a leading automotive manufacturing state, supported by a highly skilled workforce, robust supplier network, and pro-business environment.
