New high-capacity pharmacy distribution facility more than doubles Medvantx’s Kentucky footprint and expands medication access nationwide
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — September 16, 2026 — Medvantx has officially opened its expanded pharmacy distribution operation in Louisville, Kentucky, representing a $26.8 million investment that will create 122 new jobs.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear joined local officials and company leaders for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the new high-capacity facility. The expanded operation will help Medvantx distribute prescription medications to patients throughout Kentucky, the United States and U.S. territories.
“Kentucky’s pharmacy and healthcare logistics sectors have seen tremendous growth in recent years because of our skilled workforce and business-friendly resources,” Gov. Beshear said. “Today’s ribbon-cutting represents another quality company choosing to reinvest in the commonwealth. The 122 jobs created by this project mean more opportunities for Kentuckians to provide for their families.”
Louisville Facility More Than Doubles Medvantx’s Kentucky Footprint
The expansion more than doubles Medvantx’s presence in Kentucky and significantly increases the company’s pharmacy distribution capacity.
Developed in collaboration with UPS Healthcare and Innovation Associates, also known as iA, the facility incorporates advanced pharmacy automation technology designed to increase prescription-processing capacity, reduce manual touchpoints and support compliant pharmaceutical fulfillment.
The Louisville operation primarily serves patients participating in pharmaceutical industry-sponsored access programs. Its services include dispensing and shipping free or reduced-cost medications, as well as providing patient counseling through pharmacists on staff.
“Improving patient access is at the heart of everything we do at Medvantx,” Medvantx CEO Kurt Browning said. “Last year, our company served more than 10,000 Kentuckians in need, and hundreds of thousands of patients across America. With our expanded operations, we look forward to helping our pharmaceutical industry customers serve more patients.”
Investment Strengthens Louisville’s Healthcare and Logistics Sectors
Medvantx’s expanded operation builds on Louisville’s position as a national center for healthcare logistics and time-sensitive distribution.
The region is home to UPS Worldport and a growing network of healthcare, life-sciences and logistics operations that help companies distribute medications and medical devices throughout the country.
“Louisville is America’s home for express logistics, and this investment from Medvantx is proof that it’s also a fantastic place for businesses to grow and reach their customers faster,” Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said.
“Every day, medications and medical devices prepared here will reach patients in communities across America, moving through one of the most sophisticated logistics networks on the planet. This nearly $27 million investment and 122 new jobs strengthen an important part of our healthcare and life-sciences economy.”
One Louisville CEO Trevor Pawl said the project demonstrates the competitive advantages Louisville offers life-sciences companies.
“Companies in this space need serious logistics power, and few places can match what Louisville has with UPS Worldport and UPS Healthcare Labport,” Pawl said. “That’s exactly the case we make to attract investments like this one, and it’s why Medvantx chose to double down here with more investment and new jobs.”
