MELLEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Mar. 11, 2026) — CNC machining and custom fabrication company Menco, LLC will relocate its operations to Mellen Township in Menominee County as part of an expansion expected to generate approximately $1.2 million in capital investment and create at least 13 new jobs in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
The move will allow the company to consolidate operations while expanding its production capabilities through the addition of new machinery and equipment. Menco, which began operations in Wisconsin in 2021, serves customers across multiple industrial sectors requiring precision machining and custom fabrication services.
Company leadership said the relocation supports long-term growth objectives while strengthening its ability to meet demand from both existing and new clients.
“We’re looking forward to continuing to grow Menco in Michigan and expanding our capabilities,” said Adam Menor, General Manager of Menco, LLC.
The project is expected to create manufacturing positions with starting wages of approximately $21 per hour plus benefits, exceeding the regional median wage and contributing to workforce development in the region.
State and regional partners are supporting the project through performance-based incentives and workforce development initiatives designed to assist with talent recruitment and training.
Economic development officials noted that the company’s decision to locate in Michigan underscores the Upper Peninsula’s advantages for advanced manufacturing, including available industrial sites, workforce readiness programs and coordinated regional support.
Menco also evaluated alternative locations in Wisconsin before selecting Mellen Township, citing the collaborative approach to supporting small and mid-sized manufacturers.
Once operational, the expansion is expected to strengthen the region’s precision manufacturing ecosystem while creating new employment opportunities in Menominee County.
