Last week, the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance (MVEDA) had the distinct honor of organizing a delegation of Southern New Mexico representatives to host TAITRA, a prestigious group of Taiwanese businesses visiting the Albuquerque area.
This landmark event highlighted the economic potential and collaborative spirit of the Borderplex region.
The delegation was bolstered by the participation of key local leaders, including the Mayor of Las Cruces and members of his dedicated team, emphasizing a strong commitment to fostering international relationships and driving economic growth. The event also featured the Director of Promotions from the State of Chihuahua’s economic development office, showcasing the essential cross-border cooperation necessary for regional prosperity.

The visit by the TAITRA team was made possible through the support of the New Mexico Economic Development Department, whose efforts in bringing international business opportunities to our state are highly valued. This initiative aligns seamlessly with MVEDA’s ongoing mission to cultivate a vibrant and dynamic economic landscape in Southern New Mexico.
The interaction with TAITRA transcended a simple business meeting, evolving into an exchange of cultures and ideas. This engagement paved the way for potential partnerships, investments, and mutual growth, crucial for building a diversified and resilient economy benefiting all stakeholders.
Looking ahead, MVEDA is steadfast in its commitment to nurturing these invaluable international connections and continuing efforts to position Southern New Mexico as a prime destination for global business. The collaboration with TAITRA marks a significant step in this direction, and we are excited about the promising opportunities it brings.
