NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Starbucks has selected Tennessee for a new Southeast corporate office, investing $100 millionand creating 2,000 new jobs in Nashville over the next several years.
The global coffee company said the new operation will expand its North American presence while supporting continued coffeehouse growth and rising customer demand across the southeastern United States. The Nashville office will work closely with Starbucks’ global headquarters in Seattle and house a range of corporate-related functions.
The project marks a significant win for Tennessee’s business recruitment efforts and reinforces Nashville’s growing status as a major destination for corporate headquarters and regional office investments.
“Tennessee is known nationwide for its strong values and fiscally conservative approach to business, and we are proud to add Starbucks to the strong roster of brands that place their trust in our business climate and skilled workforce,” said Gov. Bill Lee. “As Starbucks continues to shape its brand and expand operations, we’re grateful the company has chosen to build a future here, creating up to 2,000 quality jobs for Tennesseans.”
State officials said the announcement highlights Tennessee’s continued momentum in attracting high-value office and headquarters projects tied to long-term job creation.
“This $100 million investment and the creation of up to 2,000 new jobs underscore Tennessee’s strength as a destination for high-quality corporate growth,” said Stuart C. McWhorter, Deputy Governor and Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.
For Starbucks, the move provides strategic access to a growing regional customer base, talent pipeline and supplier network.
“As Starbucks continues to expand across North America, Nashville gives us an opportunity to support that growth with great talent and proximity to our growing number of coffeehouses and suppliers across the Southeast,” said Brian Niccol, Chairman and CEO of Starbucks. “This city offers a deep, diverse talent pool and a strong sense of community, making Nashville another ideal place to invest for the long term.”
Local leaders said the project will create substantial new employment opportunities for residents while strengthening the metro area’s economy.
Starbucks’ decision to locate in Nashville adds another globally recognized brand to the city’s expanding corporate landscape, which has seen increased interest from companies seeking a central location, strong workforce and favorable business climate.
The project was supported by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, TVA, Nashville Electric Service, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.
