05/06/2008 -- Governor Kaine Announces More Than 1,000 Jobs for Virginia
Richmond, VA – Governor Timothy M. Kaine recently announced that Canon Virginia Inc. will invest a total of more than $600 million in its Newport News operations and its Industrial Resource Technologies Inc. (IRT) subsidiary’s facilities in Gloucester County, the first of several expansions planned as part of Canon Virginia’s “Vision for the Future” program. Canon Virginia is a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A. 2/15/2008 -- Virginia Governor Announces 800+ New Jobs for Danville
Richmond, VA – Governor Timothy M. Kaine announced yesterday that Com.40 Ltd, a major manufacturer of mattresses and upholstered furniture, will invest $36.3 million to open a manufacturing facility in the City of Danville. The project will create 813 jobs. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Texas for the project. More Info
01/15/2008 -- Company to Bring Up To 1,500 jobs to Mesa del Sol, NM’s Renewable Energy Cluster
Albuquerque -– Mesa del Sol announced yesterday that SCHOTT AG, a global leader in glass and optics and one of the largest solar technology manufacturers in the world, will build a 200,000 square foot manufacturing facility for SCHOTT Solar, Inc., its wholly owned subsidiary, on 80 acres at Innovation Park. 11/06/2007 -- Portuguese Manufacturer Locates First Plant in Effingham County, GA
Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue announced earlier this week that Portuguese manufacturer EFACEC Group plans to build its first U.S. plant in Effingham County, creating 600 jobs and $100 million in investment. "EFACEC is Portugal's leader in electronics and electro mechanics, and we're proud that they have chosen Effingham County and the state of Georgia as the site of their first U.S. plant," said Governor Sonny Perdue. 10/16/2007 -- Heatcraft Expansion to Add Jobs to Tifton, GA
Atlanta -- The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) announced this week that Heatcraft Refrigeration Products will expand its Tifton facility, adding a significant number of new jobs and investing significant dollars and resources into the expansion. More Info
