Durango Machining Innovations expansion expected to create 22 high-wage jobs and generate more than $22 million in economic impact
FARMINGTON, N.M. (June 9, 2026) — Colorado-based manufacturer Durango Machining Innovations (DMI) is expanding into Farmington, New Mexico, bringing new advanced manufacturing investment and high-wage job opportunities to the Four Corners region.
The company’s expansion is expected to create 22 high-wage jobs and generate more than $22 million in total economic impact over 10 years. The project is supported by $250,000 in funding through New Mexico’s Local Economic Development Act (LEDA), the state’s primary economic development incentive program.
DMI secured a 16-acre property just north of Farmington last July to support the expansion. The site includes an existing building that will be renovated for machining operations, as well as a new 11,000-square-foot facility that will house specialized manufacturing equipment.
Expansion Strengthens Advanced Manufacturing in the Four Corners Region
The Farmington expansion will increase DMI’s production capacity and support a broader range of industrial fabrication and machining services. As operations ramp up in 2026, the company plans to grow its workforce to support equipment installation, testing and full-scale production.
Project highlights include:
- 22 high-wage jobs expected
- More than $22 million in projected economic impact over 10 years

“New Mexico is backing companies that are ready to grow in our communities,” said Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Rob Black. “This investment strengthens advanced manufacturing in the Four Corners region and supports high-quality jobs for New Mexicans.”
DMI Expansion Supports Skilled Workforce Opportunities
Durango Machining Innovations’ new Farmington operation is expected to enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities while creating new opportunities for skilled workers in the region.
“This project allows us to grow, innovate and deliver at a new scale,” said Reed Duvall, CFO of Durango Machining Innovations. “We’re proud to expand in Farmington and create new opportunities for skilled workers.”
The expansion adds to New Mexico’s growing momentum in advanced manufacturing and supports the state’s efforts to attract business investment, strengthen regional economies and create high-quality career opportunities.
