Multi-million-dollar investment will increase magnet production capacity, strengthen supply chain resilience and support customer demand across Asia Pacific and Europe
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (June 26, 2025) — Arnold Magnetic Technologies Corporation, a subsidiary of Compass Diversified and a leading global manufacturer of high-performance magnets, magnetic assemblies, precision thin metals and electric motors, has announced plans to expand manufacturing capabilities at its operations in Amata City Chonburi, Thailand.
The multi-million-dollar strategic investment will enhance Arnold’s global manufacturing footprint, support supply chain continuity and significantly increase production capacity to better serve customers across Asia Pacific and Europe. The expansion is designed to help mitigate risk in the permanent magnet supply chain while positioning the company for continued growth in key global markets.
Arnold’s Thailand facility began operations in October 2024 and is located in one of Thailand’s premier industrial zones. The factory holds both ISO 9001 and AS 9100 certifications and initially focused on electromagnetic rotor and stator assemblies.
The second round of investment will add samarium cobalt magnet production, shaping and finishing capabilities at the Thailand site. Once complete, the expansion is expected to double Arnold’s overall magnet production capacity.
Phase I investments, completed last month, established the required magnet finishing capabilities at the facility. Phase II investments are now underway and will establish samarium cobalt magnet production, with full operational readiness expected by mid-2027.
“Our Thailand operations are poised to play a vital role in Arnold’s future and are central to our global growth strategy,” said Matt Blake, chief executive officer of Arnold Magnetic Technologies. “This investment provides capacity to support growing customer demand, improves supply chain resilience and provides a cost-competitive offering to customers globally.”
The new Thailand capabilities will also help ease capacity constraints and improve lead times at Arnold’s samarium cobalt magnet production facility in Lupfig, Switzerland.
The expansion supports Arnold’s long-term strategy to provide engineered magnetic solutions for customers in industries that require high-performance, mission-critical components, including aerospace and defense, industrial, motorsport, oil and gas, medical and energy markets.
