TIFFIN, OHIO — Botics, Inc., a Michigan-based robotics and automation firm, has announced plans to expand its operations into Tiffin, Ohio, marking a strategic investment that will strengthen advanced manufacturing capabilities in Seneca County.
The project was introduced to Tiffin City Council on April 6 as part of a proposed agreement for the company to acquire approximately seven acres of city-owned land located at the intersection of Tyber Road and Shawhan Avenue. The site positions Botics to establish a new operational hub within a growing industrial corridor in Northwest Ohio.
Founded and led by CEO Aric Recker, Botics specializes in the design and production of advanced industrial control systems, including custom control panels, field hardware integration, and turnkey automation solutions. The company’s expansion reflects continued demand for domestically produced automation technologies across a wide range of industrial sectors.
Plans call for the construction of an approximately 8,000-square-foot facility that will support expanded manufacturing operations and future growth. The investment underscores the increasing importance of automation-driven production in modern industrial ecosystems.
“This move represents an exciting opportunity for our company as we continue to grow,” said Recker. “Tiffin offers the right combination of workforce, strategic location, and community support to help us scale operations and better serve our customers.”
Local leadership views the project as a strong addition to the region’s advanced manufacturing base. Tiffin Mayor Lee Wilkinson emphasized the broader economic impact of the investment, noting its alignment with efforts to attract innovation-focused companies to the area.
“This is exactly the type of forward-looking investment we want to see in Tiffin,” Wilkinson said. “Projects like this strengthen our industrial foundation, support innovation, and contribute to long-term economic growth.”
The Botics project is expected to generate new jobs and additional capital investment as it progresses through the approval process. The development also reinforces Seneca County’s positioning within Ohio’s evolving advanced manufacturing and automation landscape.
Additional details, including construction timelines and hiring plans, are expected to be released as the project moves forward.
