COLUMBIA, S.C. — October 8, 2025 — Carolina Renewable Products (CRP), a clean energy company specializing in sustainable fuel technologies, announced plans to establish operations in Orangeburg County, South Carolina. The company’s $280 million investment will create 155 new jobs and position the region as a hub for renewable diesel and bioenergy innovation.
The new facility, located at 546 Prosperity Drive in Orangeburg, will serve as CRP’s headquarters and training center, converting wood biomass into renewable diesel, biochar, and wood vinegar. This next-generation, modular facility will help meet growing demand for low-carbon fuels, while supporting South Carolina’s forestry and agriculture industries.
Operations are expected to begin in late 2026.
“South Carolina has a rich forestry and agricultural tradition, and we are proud to harness that strength to fuel a cleaner, more resilient future,” said Robert Bryan, CEO of Carolina Renewable Products. “Our facility will provide a reliable outlet for local forestry, create products that strengthen energy independence, and help advance the state’s renewable energy leadership.”
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits and awarded a $750,000 Closing Fund grant to Orangeburg County to assist with site preparation and construction costs.
“In South Carolina, agribusiness is a major economic driver, and Carolina Renewable Products’ investment is proof of the industry’s strength,” said Governor Henry McMaster. “This $280 million project will have a lasting impact on Orangeburg County and the state’s clean energy future.”
