CONWAY, S.C. (December 16, 2025) — Coastal Ready Mix announced plans to open a new ready-mix concrete manufacturing facility in Horry County, South Carolina, representing a $4.625 million capital investment and the creation of 19 full-time jobs.
Coastal Ready Mix LLC is an expansion of a fourth-generation, family-owned construction materials group led by Scott and Zach Askins. The Askins family’s roots in the construction industry date back to 1939, and the business has continued to grow under Scott Askins’ long-standing leadership. Today, the family operates a portfolio of construction-materials businesses across South Carolina and North Carolina, including ready-mix concrete plants, CMU block manufacturing facilities, and a cement import terminal in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Collectively, the family’s companies employ more than 160 people and serve contractors throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.
The new Horry County facility marks the company’s expansion into northeastern South Carolina, strengthening its ability to serve customers across the coastal and eastern portions of the state. The company selected Horry County for its strategic location, strong regional growth, and proximity to ongoing residential, commercial, and infrastructure development.
Located on Mount Pisgah Cemetery Road in Conway, the new plant will allow Coastal Ready Mix to better support both local contractors and multi-market customers while providing the region with a locally owned and locally operatedready-mix concrete supplier. The company’s mission centers on delivering high-quality materials, investing in local jobs, and continuing a long-standing tradition of reliability, integrity, and community commitment.
Hiring for the new facility will begin closer to completion, with available positions advertised through the company and SC Works.
