Plans to Create More Than 1,000 Jobs
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Renewable energy infrastructure company Create Energy is expanding its operations across Sumner and Robertson counties with a combined $78 million investment expected to create more than 1,000 new jobs, significantly increasing its manufacturing and research footprint in Middle Tennessee.
Central to the expansion is the acquisition of a 338,000-square-foot facility in Orlinda, which will serve as the company’s primary global manufacturing hub. The Robertson County project will support large-scale production growth and is expected to generate 973 new jobs.
In addition, Create Energy will enhance its existing facility in Portland, which will be repositioned as a welcome center, research and development hub and specialized production site supporting global partnerships. The Sumner County expansion is expected to create 30 new jobs.

Upon completion of both projects, Create Energy’s total operational footprint in Middle Tennessee will exceed 475,000 square feet, reinforcing the region’s growing role in advanced energy manufacturing and innovation.
Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Portland, Create Energy develops renewable energy infrastructure solutions, including advanced solar technologies, battery storage systems and electric vehicle charging platforms. Company leaders said the expansion will enable the firm to scale production to meet accelerating global demand for resilient and reliable electrical energy solutions.
“This expansion represents a significant step in strengthening our manufacturing capabilities while continuing to innovate in the energy sector,” said Dean Solon, founder and CEO of Create Energy.
Regional economic development leaders noted that the investment highlights Middle Tennessee’s competitive advantages for advanced manufacturing and energy technology development, including workforce availability, logistics connectivity and a supportive innovation ecosystem.
The expansion is expected to support supply-chain growth, strengthen regional manufacturing capacity and create new high-quality employment opportunities across both counties.
