Strengthening Mississippi’s Agricultural Infrastructure
JACKSON, Miss. (October 27, 2025) – Delta Grain, a leading grain elevator and merchandising company, announced a $3.76 million expansion of its operations in Sidon, Mississippi, reinforcing its commitment to serving the state’s agricultural community and improving grain handling efficiency across the Mississippi Delta.
The project includes construction of a new ground pile and conveyance system, adding 2.15 million bushels of capacity to support local farmers and streamline delivery processing. The investment addresses growing demand for storage and logistical efficiency while enhancing Delta Grain’s ability to serve regional customers throughout the Delta and beyond.
This latest expansion follows Delta Grain’s 2024 investment of $6 million in a solar panel array and a 10,000-bushel-per-hour Brock dryer at its Sidon location — key improvements that modernized the company’s energy usage and increased drying capacity for early-season, high-moisture crops.
“Mississippi has one of the best agriculture industries in America. It’s a cornerstone of our state’s economy and keeps our rural communities strong,” said Governor Tate Reeves. “Delta Grain’s investment in Leflore County means more capacity for our local farmers and stronger supply chains for our state. It’s another win for Mississippi.”
The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is supporting the project through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program, with additional assistance from the Greenwood-Leflore-Carroll Economic Development Foundation (GLCEDF).
“Delta Grain’s expansion in Sidon reinforces the strength of Mississippi’s agriculture industry and ensures local farmers have a reliable, homegrown partner they can count on,” said MDA Executive Director Bill Cork. “Strategic investments like this drive growth across our communities and demonstrate how innovation in agriculture continues to move Mississippi forward.”
“We remain committed to reinvesting in our facilities to enhance efficiency and provide Mississippi farmers with the best possible harvest experience,” said Frank Brumfield, Owner of Delta Grain Company. “Adding capacity and improved drying capabilities helps us better serve the local farming community. We’re deeply grateful for the partnership of MDA, the Greenwood-Leflore-Carroll Economic Development Foundation, and others who make our continued growth possible.”
“Delta Grain’s expansion is a strong vote of confidence in Leflore County and the Mississippi Delta,” said Thomas Gregory, Executive Director of the Greenwood-Leflore-Carroll Economic Development Foundation. “This investment strengthens the agricultural backbone of our local economy and creates new opportunities for farmers and families across the region.”
The project is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025, further positioning Delta Grain as a critical player in Mississippi’s agricultural supply chain.
