LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (Dec. 29, 2025) — Firehawk Aerospace (“Firehawk”), a defense technology company specializing in advanced energetics and propulsion systems, announced an agreement to acquire a Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)-rated rocket system integration facility in Crawford, Mississippi. The acquisition significantly expands Firehawk’s manufacturing and integration capacity and represents a major milestone toward full-rate, end-to-end rocket system production.
The transaction includes the assumption of the existing facility structure and a 20-year lease covering 636 acres. The site will support full system integration and accelerate Firehawk’s ability to deliver turnkey rocket solutions at scale.
The investment aligns with Firehawk’s long-term strategic priorities, including the development and deployment of its proprietary 3D-printed solid rocket propellant technology. Mississippi’s strong aerospace and defense corridor, business-friendly environment, and access to top-tier research institutions made the state a natural fit for Firehawk’s expanding national footprint.
This announcement builds on Firehawk’s recent site selection in Lawton, Oklahoma, where the company is developing a large-scale propellant and rocket motor manufacturing operation. Together, the Oklahoma and Mississippi investments position Firehawk to expand domestic industrial capacity for solid rocket motors and establish a fully integrated U.S.-based production pipeline.
“This acquisition strengthens Firehawk’s ability to address one of the nation’s most urgent defense challenges: rebuilding munition inventories that have been drawn down faster than they can be replenished,” said Will Edwards, co-founder and CEO of Firehawk Aerospace. “While the current industrial base is designed to produce thousands of rockets per year, we are building this site—and our broader manufacturing footprint—to operate at a much higher production tempo. With R&D in Texas, energetics production in Oklahoma, and full system integration now in Mississippi, we are designing for throughput measured in thousands per month, not years.”
“Mississippi is proud to welcome companies like Firehawk that are investing in our state and helping rebuild America’s defense industrial base,” said Governor Tate Reeves. “Firehawk’s acquisition in Crawford will bring skilled jobs to the region while directly contributing to the production capacity our nation needs. This investment strengthens the local economy while supporting the systems our warfighters rely on.”
“We are excited to welcome Firehawk to Lowndes County and to see new investment in the former Nammo Talley facility,” said Meryl Fisackerly, COO of The Golden Triangle Development LINK. “Repurposing this existing site will help accelerate Firehawk’s operations and demonstrates that our region has the infrastructure and workforce to support advanced aerospace and defense manufacturing. We’re proud to support Firehawk as they grow and create new opportunities for our communities.”
