HOLDREGE, Nebraska – Ooctober 21, 2025 – Olsson, a prominent Nebraska based engineering firm, has been commissioned to conduct an in-depth hydrogeological evaluation and analysis that measures impact of the proposed DG Fuels operation. Detailed findings from the impact analysis will be included in a Hydrogeologic Evaluation Report that will be shared with stakeholders.
The Phelps County DG Fuels plant will produce 193 million gallons per year of aviation fuel using a patented process that relies on corn residue (stover) or other biomass as a feed stock. The company has obtained commitments from major airlines for 100% of the product produced by the Phelps County Plant.
DG Fuels’ investment will create a lucrative new market for stover. The addition of this reliable secondary source of revenue – estimated to exceed $150 million of new farmer revenue per year to the region – not only adds stability to farm income but will also boost the overall economy of Central Nebraska. The company has agreed to pay a $160 per ton premium price for stover to participating farmers within a 75-to-100-mile radius of the Phelps County plant.
An economic impact study conducted by NPPD identified additional market benefits such as more than $54 million in new Phelps County annual wages that will contribute to an increase of annual retail sales by 16% or more. Feedstock sales to DG Fuels will also generate new income opportunities in shoulder sectors like transportation and related logistics operations. Positive economic benefits are expected to ripple through the entire economy as well as the public sector.

About DG Fuels
DG Fuels, a U.S.-owned synthetic aviation fuel company that utilizes a manufacturing process leveraging corn stover and other cellulosic feedstock, directly addresses the challenge of scaling production to meet the demands of the global aviation industry and repatriates critical manufacturing technology to the United States. With large-scale production proposed in Louisiana, Nebraska and Minnesota, each plant will produce nearly 200 million gallons of synthetic fuel per year and meet ASTM fuel standards. DG Fuels’ patented low operating cost production model allows it to sell jet fuel to airlines in the US at rough parity with conventional Jet-A prices.
