Ditsch USA is proud to announce a major expansion in the Cincinnati region. The expansion includes a building purchase and renovation, adding fully automated bakery production lines and increasing industrial freezer storage capacity. In addition, the company has made a commitment to bring 150 new jobs over the next three years to the area.
The expansion comes n ine years after the company selected Springdale, Ohio, as its first expansion outside Germany and will operate as its U.S. headquarters. Ditsch USA employs 160 and is converting the old Costco site in Springdale, offering future employment opportunities, including production associates, maintenance technicians and line supervisors.
“We are proud to expand in the Cincinnati region and could not have done so without the partnership with JobsOhio, REDI Cincinnati and the City of Springdale,” said Thorsten Schroeder, Ditsch USA chief financial officer. “This additional investment in the community allows us to showcase our passion for pretzels for years to come.”
“Ditsch USA’s growth and expansion support the Cincinnati region’s long-standing food processing and manufacturing heritage,” said Kevin Donnelly, REDI Cincinnati vice president for project management. “The food manufacturing sector continues to grow with investments from companies like Ditsch USA, adding to our already existing 300 locations and more than 18,000 employees in the area.”
“I am thrilled to have a valued existing employer choose to grow in our community, affirming that Springdale continues to be a preferred location for business investment,” said Doyle Webster, City of Springdale Mayor. “Ditsch’s transformation of a former retail building marks a new chapter for a significant real estate asset and is another example of Springdale’s ongoing revitalization and growth.”
“With its U.S. headquarters in the Cincinnati region, Ditsch USA is one of the world’s leading pretzel manufacturers and is experiencing growing demand for its products in the North American market,” said J.P. Nauseef, JobsOhio president and CEO. “Ditsch USA’s decision to grow its Ohio operations will nearly double its workforce, bringing 150 new jobs to a vacant building in Springdale.”
JobsOhio is planning to assist the project with Talent Acquisition Services to help Ditsch USA with its overall talent strategy. The services will be tailored to Ditsch USA’s needs, including elements such as attraction, engagement, selection, and sourcing of candidates, as well as training.
