$27.3 million investment in Cumberland County to create 134 new jobs
NASHVILLE, TN (Feb. 27, 2026) — Bill Lee, alongside Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter, announced that Durable Products will expand its operations in Cumberland County through a $27.3 million renovation and modernization project.
The expansion will create 134 new jobs in Crossville and further strengthen Tennessee’s advanced manufacturing sector in the Upper Cumberland region.
Modernization and Capacity Expansion
Durable Products, a supplier of molded and extruded rubber components, will renovate and retrofit one of its existing facilities to accommodate:
- New production machinery
- Expanded warehousing and inventory space
- Updated office facilities
- Enhanced operational capabilities
The company is a subsidiary of GreenLiner LLC, which will oversee the refurbishment and modernization of the Crossville site.
Founded in 1982 in Crossville, Durable Products provides a range of manufacturing services, including compression molding, rubber extrusion, die cutting, and raw material processing.
Strengthening Rural Manufacturing in Tennessee
Gov. Lee emphasized the importance of job creation in rural communities:
“The creation of more than 130 jobs will be transformative for Cumberland County. We remain committed to ensuring rural Tennesseans have access to quality job opportunities.”
Deputy Gov. McWhorter noted that the project was highly competitive and reflects Tennessee’s strong business climate and skilled workforce.
Durable Products CEO J. Pearson highlighted the role of state and local partners in the company’s decision:
“We were based in Texas and are proud to now call Crossville, Tennessee, home. The support from TNECD and local officials was instrumental in this decision.”
Regional and Statewide Support
The expansion is supported by partnerships among TNECD, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Volunteer Energy Cooperative, and the Crossville-Cumberland Chamber of Commerce.
TVA Vice President of Economic Development Heidi Smith said the organization is committed to supporting companies like Durable Products as they expand in Tennessee.
State leaders including Sen. Paul Bailey and House Speaker Cameron Sexton also praised the investment as a major win for the Upper Cumberland region.
Long-Term Impact for Cumberland County
Durable Products has operated in Crossville for more than four decades and remains a cornerstone of the local manufacturing base. The $27.3 million expansion will enhance production efficiency, increase capacity, and reinforce the region’s role in rubber and specialty materials manufacturing.
The project further reflects Tennessee’s strategy to support both business recruitment and the growth of existing industries, particularly in rural communities.
