Wood chipping facility will support Sylvamo paper mill operations
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Eastover Chips, Inc. (Eastover Chips), a subsidiary of The Price Companies, announced today it is establishing operations in Richland County, bringing a new investment that will create 27 new jobs in the community.
Eastover Chips will construct a new wood chipping facility located at 4001 McCords Ferry Road in Eastover, where it will supply wood chips to the nearby Sylvamo paper mill. Operations are expected to come online in the first quarter of 2026.
The Price Companies is one of the nation’s leading providers of sustainable services to the pulp and paper industry, operating more than 40 locations across the United States. The Eastover facility will further expand the company’s national footprint while strengthening South Carolina’s forestry supply chain.
To support the project, the South Carolina Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded a $100,000 Set-Aside grant to Richland County to assist with site preparation and building construction costs.
