PITTSBURGH, PA (October 23, 2025) – Eos Energy Enterprises (Eos), a leading U.S. manufacturer of zinc-based battery energy storage systems, announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to Pittsburgh and expand its manufacturing operations in Allegheny County. The company’s $352.9 million investment will create and retain 1,000 total jobs across the region.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is supporting the project with a $22 million state investment, helping Eos add 735 new positions while retaining 265 existing roles.
Major Expansion Strengthens Pennsylvania’s Clean Energy Leadership
Founded in 2008, Eos Energy designs and manufactures American-made aqueous zinc batteries (Znyth™) that support grid reliability, renewable integration, and domestic supply chain resilience. The company’s expansion represents a major step forward in advancing U.S.-based clean energy manufacturing.
“The demand for energy is going up — and my administration is capitalizing on Pennsylvania’s strengths as a national energy leader to attract leading energy manufacturers like Eos Energy,” said Governor Josh Shapiro. “By cutting red tape, investing in workforce development, and supporting clean energy technology, we’re making Pennsylvania a destination for companies creating good-paying jobs and powering our future.”
New Headquarters and Manufacturing Growth
Eos currently operates two facilities in Turtle Creek, where it began expanding in 2024 with the installation of a state-of-the-art automated production line. The next phase includes leasing a 432,000-square-foot facility in Marshall Township, where additional production lines will be deployed to increase capacity.
The company will also relocate its headquarters from New Jersey to a 40,000-square-foot office at Nova Place in Pittsburgh’s North Shore by late 2026. The new headquarters will serve as a hub for software development, engineering, and operations supporting Eos’s proprietary battery management system, DawnOS™.
Eos plans to strengthen partnerships with local universities, including Carnegie Mellon University, to support innovation and develop skilled talent in robotics, artificial intelligence, computer science, and engineering.
Regional Leaders Welcome Clean Energy Investment
“Eos Energy’s expansion in Allegheny County underscores the region’s strength at the intersection of energy, manufacturing, and innovation,” said Stefani Pashman, CEO of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development. “This project not only reinforces Pittsburgh’s position as a hub for advanced energy storage, but also supports family-sustaining jobs and collaboration among business, labor, and education partners.”
The company’s decision highlights Western Pennsylvania’s growing role in the national clean energy transition, joining a wave of major industrial investments in the region.
A Region Powering the Future
Eos Energy’s expansion follows a surge of clean energy and manufacturing announcements across the Pittsburgh area.
