ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — GLDPartners announced it will host a groundbreaking ceremony on February 24 in Albuquerque to mark the start of Phase 1 of the I-40 TradePort Corridor, a major infrastructure initiative designed to strengthen U.S. supply chains and expand domestic logistics capacity.
The event will celebrate development of the first four TradePort Hubs in what is planned as a national system of TradePort Corridors. Phase 1 of the I-40 Corridor stretches approximately 1,325 miles, beginning at the Southern California seaports complex and extending inland to key locations in:
- Kingman, Arizona
- Winslow, Arizona
- Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Future hubs along the I-40 Corridor and its broader supply chain shed are planned in major logistics markets including Kansas City, St. Louis, Memphis, Dallas and Louisville.
A National System of Quadrimodal Logistics Centers
The TradePort System is being strategically developed as a network of integrated quadrimodal logistics centersconnecting highway, rail, air and maritime infrastructure. In total, four TradePort Corridors are under development along the I-40, I-10, I-80 and I-5 corridors.
Across these routes, 35 TradePort Hubs are planned over the next 10–12 years. Each hub will span approximately 1,500 to 5,000 acres and will feature:
- A Logistics Core Zone functioning as a purpose-planned multimodal port complex
- An integrated Investment District designed to attract manufacturing and distribution operations
Additional TradePort Hub announcements are expected within the next 24–30 months in markets across California, Arizona, Texas, Alabama and Georgia.
Economic Impact and Competitiveness
At full buildout, the TradePort System is projected to directly create 325,000 new high-quality jobs nationwide while enhancing the economic competitiveness of host communities seeking advanced manufacturing and distribution investment.
The Logistics Core Zones will be developed and managed as a coordinated national system of tech-enabled inland portsthat directly interface with major coastal load-center seaports, supporting more efficient cargo movement and supply chain resilience.
Albuquerque Groundbreaking
The February 24 groundbreaking in Albuquerque will be hosted in partnership with Bernalillo County and marks a significant milestone for the I-40 TradePort Corridor. The event is expected to draw a broad roster of speakers and participants, including representatives from:
- Federal transportation leadership
- Congressional offices
- Seaports
- State and local governments
- Shippers and logistics providers
