SANTA FE, N.M. — March 13, 2026 — The New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD) will return to South by Southwest (SXSW) as a lead partner of the New Mexico House, highlighting the state’s growing leadership in frontier technologies, film production, and digital media innovation.
Following a sold-out debut that attracted more than 2,800 registrants in 2025, the 2026 New Mexico House will take place March 16 at The Courtyard ATX on 4th Street in Austin, Texas. During the globally recognized SXSW conference, EDD will spotlight how its Technology and Innovation Office is helping accelerate emerging technologies to market while the New Mexico Film Office continues to strengthen the state’s reputation as a premier destination for film and television production.
“New Mexico is at an inflection point,” said EDD Cabinet Secretary Rob Black. “We are aligning world-class research, growing venture capital investment, and a supportive policy environment to build next-generation industries. The New Mexico House at SXSW provides a global stage to share that story.”
SXSW regularly attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees from around the world, serving as a convergence point for technology, culture, and business leaders.

The New Mexico Technology and Innovation Office supports promising ideas at every stage of development, providing strategic funding, market-acceleration support, and connections to a statewide network of research institutions, investors, and industry partners.

New Mexico’s film incentive program remains one of the most established and competitive in the United States. Combined with an experienced workforce, built-out production infrastructure, and diverse filming locations, the state continues to attract major film, television, and digital media projects.
