Creating 150 New Jobs
ATLANTA – Governor Brian P. Kemp announced that Grupo Vialume, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of advanced roadway visibility and transportation safety solutions, will invest $4.4 million to establish its first U.S. manufacturing operation in Colquitt-Miller County, Georgia. The project is expected to create 150 new jobs over the next seven years.
“We are excited to welcome Grupo Vialume to Georgia after meeting with their leadership during a visit to Brazil this summer,” said Governor Kemp. “This investment will create long-term opportunities for hardworking Georgians and deliver meaningful benefits for the Colquitt-Miller County community for generations.”
Founded in the 1980s and headquartered in São Paulo, Grupo Vialume is a second-generation, family-owned company recognized globally for its transportation safety technologies. Its flagship brand, Vialume, is Brazil’s largest producer of reflective raised pavement markers and ranks among the top five manufacturers of these products worldwide.
“We are thrilled to expand our manufacturing footprint into Colquitt, Georgia,” said João Paulo Moura, CEO of Grupo Vialume. “This decision reflects growing demand for sustainable products, the strength of our U.S. supplier base, and the ease of exporting to our commercial partners. Combined with attractive tax incentives, dollar stability, and the security of investing in such a strong market, Colquitt provides the ideal environment for Grupo Vialume to build a brighter, more sustainable future.”
The company will establish an integrated manufacturing and recycling hub on E. Crawford Street in the City of Colquitt. The facility will produce plastic raised pavement markers and precision-engineered reflective lenses, while also pioneering circular-economy processes that convert previously unrecyclable materials—such as textile offcuts and peanut-shell byproducts—into high-value products and raw manufacturing inputs.
Upgrades to the existing facilities are underway and expected to be completed in 2026. Hiring will begin in stages for roles including production operators, injection machinists, sales personnel, logistics specialists, and management positions. “I’m encouraged by the positive economic development we’re seeing, because this project truly represents what collaboration can achieve,” said Colquitt Mayor Preston Clenney. “With support from the State of Georgia, the City Development Authority, and dedicated leaders throughout the region, Grupo Vialume is creating new opportunities that will benefit our rural community for years to come.”
“Grupo Vialume isn’t just bringing new jobs – it’s breathing new life into a building that has been underutilized for more than a decade,” said Ladon Calhoun, Chairman of the Miller County Board of Commissioners. “Their investment creates additional opportunities for our residents, strengthens the region, and helps build a brighter future for southwest Georgia.”
The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Senior Project Manager Mellissa Takeuchi represented the state on this project, working in partnership with the Colquitt Downtown Development Authority and Electric Cities of Georgia.
“Georgia’s international relationships open doors for opportunities of all sizes across the state,” said Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson. “Our long-standing presence in key global markets—such as Brazil, where we celebrated 30 years of representation this summer—continues to yield meaningful economic opportunities. Congratulations to Grupo Vialume and the Colquitt-Miller County team on this exciting new chapter.”
